Beyond the estimate
A countertop project involves more than choosing a beautiful slab. The details below help you prepare for a smooth experience, explore the areas we serve, and find answers before you make a decision.
Before your consultation
Photos of your existing space, rough dimensions, preferred material or inspiration photos, and your project city help us understand what you have in mind.
Before templating
Cabinet placement, appliance specifications, sink selection, and access to the work area can affect accurate measurements and planning. We’ll discuss what applies to your project.
Before installation
Confirm access, protect nearby belongings, and coordinate other trades as needed. We’ll discuss project-specific preparation before installation.
Design details worth considering
A subtle eased edge feels different from a more pronounced profile. The right choice should complement cabinetry and the overall design.
With patterned natural stone, layout and direction can change the look of an island, backsplash, or adjoining surface.
Sink type, faucet placement, cooktop dimensions and clearances should be considered before cutouts are finalized.
Consider whether you prefer a simple countertop transition, a short backsplash, or a full-height stone statement.

Questions worth asking
Useful answers to the details that often come up between choosing a material and getting ready for installation.
The material and slab choice, square footage, edge profile, sink or cooktop cutouts, backsplash details, access and installation complexity all affect pricing. A project-specific estimate is more useful than a single price per square foot.
For accurate final templating, base cabinets generally need to be installed, secured, level and in their final positions. We can discuss the right timing for your project.
Some layouts need seams because of slab dimensions, access, or structural considerations. We discuss likely seam locations and work toward a clean, intentional appearance.
It is best to finalize the sink model and provide its specifications before cutout planning. Undermount, drop-in and specialty sinks can require different details.
Tell us about the existing surfaces during your estimate request. Removal, disposal and any related plumbing or cabinet work should be discussed and included in the project scope where applicable.
Quartz countertops are engineered surfaces; quartzite is natural stone. They can differ in appearance, heat response, porosity and care requirements, so we can discuss which is appropriate for your space.
Timing depends on material availability, final approvals, fabrication details and scheduling. We will discuss the expected timeline for your specific project rather than promise a universal turnaround.
Sink and appliance connections often involve separate trade work. Before installation, we can clarify what needs to be disconnected, reconnected or coordinated with your plumber or other contractors.
